La Grange Gites Complex at St.Martin-des-Fountaines in the South Vendee consists of two large Renovated farmhouses which have been converted into 4 gites ranging from 2 to 5 bedrooms and maintaining many of their original features ie. centuries old Oak Beams, Stone walls and bread oven. The large Barn has been converted into an Activities Center with Heated indoor Pool,Games and Sports Facilities and an Entertainment Lounge with TV, DVD, Video, XBOX, Library and much more. The Gardens consist of 2½acres of landscaped gardens, with shady nooks, quiet corners, Boules Court, and full of flowers and mature trees. A further 1 acre of garden has football pitch, swings and slides and Trampoline. The large outdoor pool has a terrace area around it with secure fencing. L'Hermenault 1½ Kms has super market, bakers, Bank and post office.

Activities and Gardens
We are proud of our gardens at La Grange not only because of the way they are landscaped and the vast amount of colour in the flower beds, but because of the amount of enjoyment that they bring to our visiters.
The gardens were designed so that where ever you are on the site there is always something interesting to view, and with the gardens blending into the natural landscape it has the feel of space and being together with nature.
The gardens are basically in two parts, the landscaped garden and the sports field though within the former there is a boules court.
The Activities and Facilities at La Grange are very extensive,with something for all ages.
Outdoors
2½acres of landscaped gardens with quiet corners and shady nocks.
Swimming Pool - 10m x 6m with roman steps has a depth of 2.4m shallowing to 80cm, fenced off for security.

Fishing - We have free use of a nearby lake, with Carp, Pike, Roach etc. fishing in the Canals, Rivers and lakes requires a permit.
Tennis - Available in the local Village.
Golf - There are several courses within easy driving distance.
Boating - The lakes at mervent have sailboats, canoes, kayaks and pedalos for hire.
The Green Venice also has boat hire with or without a guide.
Biking - The hiring of bikes is possible at several locations.
Horse Riding - Available in the Mervent/Vouvant forest.
Karting - There is an excellent course at Fontenay-le-Comte, where karts can be hired.
